gjvn Posted April 26 #1 Share Posted April 26 Well we might as well get this page started. Just booked the cruise, our daughter and family are joining us as well. It should be different from the standard Caribbean cruises as well as trying out the Venezia style ship. Always preferred CC over FB for sharing and exchanging cruise info.

wardwhitty Posted May 6 #3 Share Posted May 6 We are on this cruise celebrating our 25th anniversary. This is a cruise of a lot of firsts: 1st time on this class ship, 1st 14 day cruise, 1st cruise to South America. We are so excited and can't wait. Now to decide on shore excursions !!!
2cadolphin Posted May 14 #4 Share Posted May 14 I'm Cindy & on this cruise as well. I've never cruised w Carnival so here we go. I've cruised a few dozen times though and have done the full Panama Canal in 2019 w another line. There are a couple portsI haven't done so that's exciting as well. Looking forward to meeting everyone next year.
gjvn Posted May 22 Author #5 Share Posted May 22 (edited) Lots of new ports for us too. Positives for this cruise, 14 Journey cruises don't draw the problematic Carnival passengers of late. The Venezia is a Vista class ship so it will be similar to the Vista, Horizon & Panorama, but a little more upscale I hear. Looking forward to it. maryinFL Posted May 25 #6 Share Posted May 25 We just booked this. I'm excited about seeing the Panama Canal. We usually travel with friends and often arrange for private excursions. Does anyone have any ideas for the Cólon port? We opted for this over a full transit to avoid having a flight (we are an hour from Port Canaveral) but I'd like to see as much of the Canal as possible.
gjvn Posted May 25 Author #7 Share Posted May 25 Most times I book my excursions independent from cruise line, but I've hear of traffic issue and tours getting back late. The ship waited because it was their tour. I'm not going to risk it booking with the ship this time.
sandra4611 Posted June 2 #8 Share Posted June 2 Just booked this cruise today. We are so excited! I have looked at excursions on Trip Advisor and they are so much cheaper. I have done non-ship excursions in Aruba, Curaçao, and Grand Cayman before so will probably do the same. However I will likely go with Carnival excursions in the ports I have never been to, Grand Turk, Colon, Limon, and especially Cartagena. Don’t want to take any chances in Columbia! Anyone heard of exceptionally good excursions both cruise and non-cruise?
gjvn Posted June 2 Author #9 Share Posted June 2 We have always done private in Grand Turk in the past without issue

Anyone heard of exceptionally good excursions both cruise and non-cruise? You can definitely do a private tour in Grand Turk, the whole island is tiny. We will also probably book through CCL for the Colon and Cartegena stops. The traffic issues posted in some of the reviews scare me. This roll call is so quiet. nickiduca Posted September 19 #11 Share Posted September 19 Hello! My husband and I are on this cruise and so excited! This is our 21st cruise and 9th with Carnival Cruise and our first to South America! We are using tours by locals for private guides and excursion as we have in the past with no issue! Looking forward to talking with everyone about our cruise. Has anyone cruised on the Venezia before?
