alwalaska Posted May 6 #1 Share Posted May 6 Our cruise stops at the following ports: Puerto Vallarta Huatalco San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua Puntarenas, Costa Rica Fuerte Amador, Panama Aruba Does anyone have recommendations on a good location for the following activities? Even better, do you have a specific tour operator or do it yourself way to accomplish it? Horseback riding Snorkeling Ziplining with an option for people the other people who don't want to zipline. UTV type thing, but something with 1 driver and one passenger or everyone as passengers. In Costa Rica, I'm hoping to see sloths, but the sanctuaries seem pretty far from the port. We do have a 12 hour day there. Thanks!!!
Jay_NH Posted July 29 #2 Share Posted July 29 Hello, My DW and I did the "Meet the sloths", a Princess excursion. It's a tour of the sloth sanctuary and a canoe ride along a lazy river, I believe in back of the sanctuary. It was an awesome experience. On the canoe ride, you'll see sloths and howler monkeys and maybe a small Caimen or two along the way. We loved it. Jay

We're doing one that combines two different tours including a sloth sanctuary. Because we're crazy that way. 😄 Edited August 3 by MacMadame

Because we're crazy that way. 😄 Have fun. We did that when we went to Alaska many years ago, but we rarely do ship tours any longer. We're doing a private tour that combines horseback riding and ziplining for 2 people in our group, and horseback riding and a chocolate tour for the other 2—all in one location about an hour from the port, instead of the 2+ hours for sloths. I don't do well on 2-3 hours of drive each way, shoved on big, full buses. I decided to do Sloths on a cruise that stops in Roatan instead. I prefer private tours with smaller vehicles and fewer people for less money.
