Does anyone know of any good hotels near the port in San Deigo?

I need to start looking for one for our cruise in Dec.

I know i have time but i like to have everything booked and taken care of.

The closest one is the Holiday Inn (on the Bay ...I think).

There is also a Best Western Bayside Inn, that has shuttle transportation to the pier and offers a Continental Breakfast. (They have a Stay and Park package also people wanting to leave their cars).

You can go to Expida on the internet, go to hotell and you will find the two hotel listed. They are both good and local is down town S.D. The one with the parking I think is the best. Thefy will also give you prices.

The Holiday Inn (Bayside) is great! It's almost directly across the street from the ship...no need for a shuttle. It's 5 minutes from the airport. It's 5 minutes from the Gaslamp Quarter (where all the action is in downtown SD). Great location and great hotel. I have found that in SD, the sooner you book your hotel, the cheaper it will be.

Thanks for the info.

I think i will book the Holiday Bayside.

Its more expensive but it looks like a nice place.

Last year i went for a cheaper hotel in Long Beach and it was not a good area. I do not want to do that again.

If you are in San Diego for a day check out the wild animal park - it is the best.

The Wild Animal Park is great, but the zoo is MUCH closer to the Holiday Inn and is great. Another fun this is take the ferry boat (across the street from the hotel) over to Coronado Island, rent bikes, and ride over to the famous Hotel Del Coronado.

I hope you both you will post after your cruise so I'll know how it is for my cruise in February. I'm especially interesed in the ports cuz I've never been to any of them.
