skolega Posted March 26, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 26, 2006 Just off Magica and they always offer a wellness menu that will give you a choice from each course along with the calorie count for each. There is lots of fruit and salad and grilled meats. You will not have a problem.

packercruising Posted March 26, 2006 #4 Share Posted March 26, 2006 Everyone has their own opinion about excursions. It costs more to sign up for them on the ship but you know what you are getting. Here are a couple advantages. 1. If you tender, people that have signed up for excursions get preference over those that don't, although we didn't sign up for an excursion on Grand Cayman and didn't have any problem getting off the ship. 2. If something happens with the excursion or it is late, the ship will wait for you. I do not know what their policy is if you are on your own and an excursion is late. 3. You do not need to find your own transportation. 4. You have a recourse to get your money back or exchange for another excursion. On our Alaska trip we had signed up for a whale watching excursion but had seen plenty earlier so we were able to exchange it for a different excursion that we were also interested in. That being said there are a lot of people that have signed up for everything on their own and had a great time with no problems.
joetrizeo Posted March 28, 2006 #5 Share Posted March 28, 2006 Jeff, number 3 is a little miss-leading, most but not all of the excursions offer transportation. our excursion to playa mia beach was one where we had to find our own way to the beach (taxi) no prob. the excursion information on costa's website will say. and just for the record, we payed 29$ for our playa mia beach pass and at the door the same pass was 35$. also remember if you are sick or change your mind about an excursion, to get your money back you must talk to the excursion desk BEFORE the excursion. getting a refund after the fact requires a doctors form if you are sick (dr visit is 40-60$) -Jim
Rochesterboatingdotcom Posted March 28, 2006 #6 Share Posted March 28, 2006 We did all of our tours on our own 1. Key West - not much time and we have already been there so we walked to a little known bakery for Key Lime pie, did some shopping and had a beer at Sloppy Joes 2. Cozumel - Rented a scooter for $20, drove all the way around the island, visited Mr. Sanchos and Paradise beach, returned scooter then had a few $1 Coronas at a small Mexican restaurant, and finally visited Carlos and Charlies. 3. Jamaica - took the Phil Lafayette tour, $55 for Dunns Falls and river tubing, $10 for lunch. Stopped at Margaritaville before heading back to the ship. 4. Grand Cayman - took Capt Bryan tour to Stingray City and snorkeling, excellent tour -$35. Stopped at 7 mile beach for a while afterwards, then shopping and Senor Frogs. Menus ---> Here is a link to some of the Costa Menus: http://community.webshots.com/album/547692578tNzoDb Enjoy your cruise!! -Ron and Jane
