We want to see the planes lands at Maho, so I know we have to head there first, because viewing is best 1:00- 3:00pm. We would then like to hit a beach. Which one would be the best the one if we want to go to Phillipsberg for a little shopping before going back to the ship. (Also since it is Good Friday, does anyone know if stores are open?) Divi, Orient or Mullet beach? I know Mullet is close to Maho, but is it nice? I read great things on these boards about both Divi and Orient, I am getting analysis paralysis. 12:00- to 7:00 is kinda an odd time slot to be in port.

Thanks in advance for everyones advice!!!!

Most of the shops (if not all) will be closed on Good Friday. Since you'll be at Maho for plane spotting until 3:00p, Orient is pretty much out. Transit time from Maho to Orient, then back to Philipsburg would take up valuable beach time. Mullet would be great as it's a few minutes from Maho and far superior to Divi.

Thanks a million Kal, that helps greatly!

Since you think most stores will be closed, is there anywhere that might be open to purchase a few bottles of quavaberry liquor? I had my heart set on bringing some home. Also, since it is Good Friday, do you think the cabs still will be on duty?

I have read your posts before and you are so informative.

Your best bet could be Sang's Super Center (grocery store) which is located about half way between the Cruise terminal and Philipsburg. Here is what it looks like. I'm sure they will be open. Hit the "next" button a few times to see an image of a part of the liquor aisle [YUM!].

Most certainly the cabs will be operating. When it comes to holidays, stores and shops are government regulated as to being open. Places like restaurants and hotels are exempted.
