Seattle Port Valet Help!

Recommended Posts

I'm hoping someone can help before turning to my credit card company with a dispute.  We recently returned from a week in Alaska onboard the Luminosa.  I completed the Port Valet form using both of our names and 3 bags total.  We flew Southwest, which allows a total of 4 free bags.  When we received our final bill a charge of $125.00 was charged to us for 3 bags ALL in my husband's name.   I immediately called guest services and was told it was a Southwest issue.  I called Southwest and was told they could help me once we got to the airport.  Once at the airport the young lady had no clue how to fix it and called a supervisor.  We were told there was no way Southwest could fix it as it was a Carnival error.  They advised me to email Southwest directly in the event they could/would fix it.  I did so and received a reject stating it was indeed a Carnival error.  I've emailed Port Valet and was rejected with them as well.  I had guest services make me a copy of the form and it's clearly an error on someones part on the ship.  It was simply entered as one person and not two.  I've emailed John Heald a month ago and haven't heard back yet.  Other than disputing this with the credit card does anyone have any suggestions!

Thanks all?

If you have documentation showing that the luggage was supposed to be split between two people, then I would file a dispute with your card provider and ensure that the provider has a copy of the documentation which supports your claim.  The card provider will need the documentation to support their chargeback process so they can actually get the funds returned to them to return to you.  You'll get the funds back sooner than the card issuer due to the concept of provisional credit, where the issuing bank has to give your funds back to you while they conduct the investigation, however if your docs support your claim the bank needs them to ensure they actually get the funds back or can back up your claim as they push it through the card system.
