3-Night Infinty to Vancouver - Evening Attire & Any Parties?

Greetings,

We are on the 3 night cruise from San Fran to Vancouver on June 1st. I had a few questions that I hoped someone could "enlighten me" with answers to.

1. With this being a short cruise, wondered if anyone knew what the evening attire would be. Would there be a formal night? My thought is the evening attire would it be Causal, Formal, Informal????

2. We want to checkout the SS United States and did not want to miss out on the formal dinner in the main dining room...hence thought we would reserve for late on our 1st day of sailing...say 9:30 PM...this way we could meet out table mates and then head over to a "late" dinner at the SS United States...does anyone have any thoughts here?

3. With this being a short cruise, wondered if there would be any Captain's Club Party or any special events for Concierge Class guests...

BTW, for those who love those aft cabins...we are so excited..we got one of them for this cruise...#7203... aft CC cabin...we cannot wait to see the view...:-)

THanks in advance...:-)

There should be a Captains Club party.

I would guess there are two casual nights and one Informal night.

As for the SS United States. Nice thought to meet the table mates.

You may want to hold this till the last night.

Unless they have something special on the menu.

And you could find out when your on the ship.

Hi, Caragh - we're also booked on this short cruise. The formal night will certainly be the second night, after the (only) full day at sea). The first and last nights will probably be casual or informal, but we always wear a shirt and sportcoat for either one so don't really notice the difference!

The United States is well worth the visit - see if you can get Tony Ruskus as your Maitre d' Rang. We've had him both on Infinity and on Constellation and really enjoyed his class and style. It is nice of you to go to your dinner table in the dining room the first evening to meet your table mates and servers, but unless you eat quickly, 9:30 is a little late! We usually reserve in the Specialty restaurants at 8:30 or 9:00, and we're usually the last table to leave at 10:30 or 11:00! But we like to make an elegant dinner like that the "event" for the evening so there's no rule that you have to linger that much.

We'll probably reserve for the last evening so that we have two evenings in the main dining room, including the formal night, and we can pre-tip our waiter, et al, and say good-bye to our table mates.

Hey guys - Dr Koob and I are also on this cruise. Someone else started a thread for this cruise back in October. We've got a nice little group going so come on over and check us out. Since it's only a 3 day cruise, there will not be a Cruise Critic party but we are working on one of our own.

Bruce - we were part of the Martini Mates (Jim and Kathleen) on the August 28 Infinity cruise. Ted and Ralph were also on that cruise and will be joining us again on this cruise.

The thread is "June 1, 2006 3 day repo." I copied the link but now it has disappeared.

Thanks so much for the input from all of you. We are always up for some mingling so will keep my eyes open for the adhoc cruise critic party:p

Hubby and I will have to have a think about the SS United States Reservation day/time..

Looking forward to meeting you all..

Kind Regards,

Caragh

Yes, we've got a good thread going. If you want to do a search, try Emilygrace (that's me!) as the poster and see if it comes up. Now I can't remember if it's on the roll call forum or this one.

The formal night is the second night (according to my TA, who will be with us on this cruise).

Come join us!

Hi, BellKat - it will be nice to see some of the crazy Martini Mates on board! We're going with some friends (first time cruisers) and plan to just spend some time with them and simply relaxing. It will be like coming home to get back on the Infinity, won't it?

It was casual, formal, casual. More folks were dressed up than not.

No captains club party, welcome aboard party. Did recieve the coupons for the casino, and spa. And a behind the scenes at the theatre tour.

  • 3 weeks later...

Hi to all the Martini Mates...it'll be great to see you again :)

Just a quick question- if you're a past passenger on Celebrity you can make reservations for the specialty restaurant by phone. Is it within 30 days of the cruise that you can do this?

If you have dinner in the United States the dress is informal (semi-formal) and a jacket and nice pants is required for men and a dressy outfit for ladies. The dinner is a lengthy one and 9:30 would be very late and I doubt you would be out til midnight.

I visited the Captains Club area of Celebrity.com...you can phone in reservations up to 60 days but not less than 4 days prior to the cruise.

Also, I believe I've read somewhere on CC that on formal nights, the specialty restaurant requires formal dress.
