Snorkeling platform on expedition ships

Recommended Posts

I have seen several people on this site mention a snorkeling platform. Could someone please describe it or post a picture. I am especially interested in how you get back on the platform from the sea. Thanks

When Seabourn is running the snorkeling expedition they are usually done from a beach or what some might call a snorkeling platform.  It is NOT a platform.  It is a zodiac boat or two tied together and anchored.  One is  shuttled to the zodiac boats.  You transfer by scooting across the ribs.  Then make whatever prep you need and leave unnecessary stuff (towels, water) in zodiac.  Enter the water via the rib and return via a ladder attached to the rib.  I hope this helps.
