Okay, I was a little concerned to read that there will be 4 ships in port Saturday and things could be crazier than usual...

 

BUT-Did you know that the Olympic Torch goes through NYC Saturday as well?

Woah - Yikes is right!!

I am not sure if you already know this, but others have advised NY cruisers to have the taxi drop you off across the street(?) from the pier and you can just walk across instead of having him try to manuever to get you exactly where you need to be.

You may want to call the New York Passenger Ship Terminal to see if they can give you more info since I have actually never been there (YET). Their number is 212-246-5450.

 

Good news is, I am guessing the torch will be much further "inland" in Manhattan and may not even effect you at all depending on where you are coming from and what streets they have blocked off.

I was planning on leaving at 5:30....It took a lot of persuading to have my husband conceded to that early. He thinks there will be NO problem.

Oh no, Halos! You've got a much worse drive than I do- we used to live in Southern Maine and everything from NYC to North of Boston is a major pain, our drive from MD should be cake until we get off of the NJ Turnpike! I wish you LOTS of luck!
