vesw01 Posted March 27, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2006 I understand that Gold status is after your first cruise and platinum after your 10th cruise - does this actually do anything for you? I think you sign and sail card is different, but do you get any perks?
workn2cruise Posted March 27, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 27, 2006 No perks, just a welcome back.
mrdood Posted March 27, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 27, 2006 With Platinum yes - many perks, and you are Platinum on your 10th cruise, not after. There are numerous posts on this that are easily accessed with the search function: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showt...platinum+perks http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showt...platinum+perks http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showt...platinum+perks http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showt...platinum+perks
LHP Posted March 27, 2006 #4 Share Posted March 27, 2006 I understand that Gold status is after your first cruise and platinum after your 10th cruise - does this actually do anything for you? I think you sign and sail card is different, but do you get any perks? Your Sail and Sign card is Gold card for 2 -9 cruises. No perks...just a past cruisers party. On your 10th cruise with Carnival, your sail and sign card is Platinum and this is a whole different ballgame. VIP Check In (used to be called the Skippers Club). Priority tendering (just show them the ole platinum card - no running down to the lounge to get tendering tickets). Free wash and fold laundry service (which we used twice on the Pride - I did tip our room steward each time $10 because we had bluejeans, t-shirts and stuff for a family of 4). Personalized stationary. Canapes and Petit fours on formal nights. Priority debarkation (complete with a room to wait in with coffee and danish). And some other stuff that you can find listed on these boards. The shock that out of all the passengers on the March 12th Pride cruise, only 22 were Platinum. vesw01 Posted March 27, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted March 27, 2006 Wow those are very cool perks, I like the laundry service, that is fantastic!! Geez only 8 more cruises and what about $10,000 and I will be there LOL. We can't afford to cruise each year, but my daughter crusied for the first time at age 2 so maybe she will be platinum status before she is 50 LOL!! My youngest is 14 and we just booked his 14th cruise. He has been the youngest platinum member on the past 2 cruises we have done. Yes, we are officially addicted and "proud of it"!! Hey, you have to spend your money on something ... might as well be a cruise!
