NEW YORK, June 17 (Reuters) - Carnival (CCL), the world's No. 1 cruise group, on Thursday said quarterly earnings nearly tripled as bookings and prices recovered from lows last year caused by the invasion of Iraq.

The article went on to say that COSTS have really been kept under control (averaging about $100 per berth per day)... which is close to what the cruise fare is... so basically every dime of our SAIL AND SIGN accounts is PURE PROFIT... not too bad! I will continue to contribute my fair share!

Have any of you noticed how the SPECIALS that Carnival lists on its website are not quite as inexpensive as they have been? Many have noted the little things that are "no more" -- evidence of the cost controls -- yet cruising is still a great value!

... just fyi...

Guess I should take some of the money I save for cruises and invest it in Carnival stock.

Aw, it's that self discipline thing again.

I saw that also Tom and also noticed they did this with a mere 68% increase in revenues. Pretty damn sharp, if you ask me.

When is the rest of the cruising world going to admit that Carnival has their talons firmly embedded in the cruising demographic of the era. From the budget cruiser to the "better than thou" vacationer they close off the door to every objection excepting the one marked,YES !

Live well, love much, laugh often.
