Rare 3rdGenCunarder Posted July 11 #1 Share Posted July 11 Not sure if I should ask this here or Alaska cruises. I'm in Vancouver (had a lovely day), staying at the Pan Pacific. I have a view of the commercial port and train tracks from my window, so looking SSW (I think). In the distance, I can see one mountain that is taller than any other. It's covered with snow. What is it? It's driving me crazy because I've tried to figure it out using googlemaps but I can't.
Urban trekker Posted July 11 #2 Share Posted July 11 (edited) If it is dome shaped and in the SSE from your hotel it is probably Mt. Baker - a volcanic mountain just south of the US border. Does it look something like this? In Vancouver - north is the mountains across Burrard Inlet. Edited July 11 by Urban trekker added info.
Rare 3rdGenCunarder Posted July 11 Author #3 Share Posted July 11 (edited) Yes, that's it, thanks. And yes, east not west. That was one of my possibilities. I got a look at it way off in the distance on the flight to Vancouver. Beautiful picture! Edited July 11 by 3rdGenCunarder
Urban trekker Posted July 11 #4 Share Posted July 11 That picture was taken in White Rock which is right on the US border so the mountain is a lot closer than what you see from downtown Vancouver.
