where to go near de palm island and Phillips animal garden

We are traveling with 3 kids, and will be visiting de palm island and Phillips animal gardens.  Is there anything close/on the way you'd recommend we stop at with our kids?  We'll need a cab to get us to those destinations (the animal gardens and dock for de palm island) so I was wondering if there was anything else we should see briefly while we are there.  Thanks so much
