Semiquincentennial-Pride Of America

Recommended Posts

This week I booked on POA's scheduled departure from Honolulu on 4 Jul 26.

It will be my third time with NCL, the first being an Islands cruise on the Star in 2002 and then

b2b's on Gem ex-Venice in 2010.

I was in Hawaii for the Bicentennial and in 1988 was on a Princess ship in Sydney Harbour for

Australia's Bicentennial and the Parade of the Tall Ships.

I have a tendency towards big-occasion cruising as, amongst others, I was on the QE2 for the

Tandem Crossing with QM2 in 2004 and then on Fred Olsen's Balmoral for the Titanic Memorial

Cruise in 2012.

It's a way off but, hopefully, I'll still be around to do it.

Should be a fun trip! I really enjoyed our cruise on POA back in 2011.Was not a big occasion trip, but still a lot of fun.

I guess you will be able to see fireworks as you sail by the islands, and in ports if you are there in the evenings. Maybe Kilauea will have some lava flow for extra drama.

Hope that you will you get to enjoy this trip.
