What to do in Calica???

We are scheduled on the Inspiration and will be doing this stop, traveling with two 11 year olds, any suggestions? I am not hearing very good things about this stop.........ease my worries!!!!

when are you sailing? we are on the May 13th sailing? We are doing the Tulum Ruins.

why not check out the shore excursion boards..i bet folks there have tons of great ideas on how to spend your time...:)

We are going in Oct., I have looked over the shore excurions but was hoping to get some advise from someone that has gone there with children.

When you get off the ship at Calica, you'll have to get a cab to go into Playa del Carmen, as Calica is a working rock quarry...ugly. (Or you could go on a ruins excursion by bus).

 

It's a 10 minute ride into PdC, and the fare is $10 per cab, not per person. The kids would probably enjoy the public beach at PdC. Nothing as far as kids activities that I know of there...mainly shopping, and some good restaurants on Avenue 5. They'll probably love the beach anyway!:)

Thanks for the advice, the girls were worried about shopping! They also want to get their hair braided I'm sure that's there too, right?
