MWL5150 Posted July 29 #1 Share Posted July 29 On an August 2024 Silhouette with revised overnight stop in Le Verdon for Bordeaux (formerly Pauillac). Given excursions are almost sold out and/or cancelled (and Le Verdon is a very small town) trying to find information on the Le Verdon transportation options. Called Celebrity and they could not confirm whether a shuttle will be offered to Soulac (postings report Princess Cruises and NCL offered a shuttle to Soulac). Asking anyone CC member who has stopped with Celebrity at Le Verdon recently: Was a shuttle provided to Soulac? If a shuttle was provided what were the last shuttle back to ship? Can one walk out of the port directly? Postings are inconclusive and given it is an active port safety reasons may restrict entry and exit. Has anyone used the SNCF train from Le Verdon (or Soulac) to Bordeaux (Gare St. Jean) Thank you for any information you can provide. MLee
Rare markeb Posted July 29 #2 Share Posted July 29 Welcome to Cruise Critic! It's not obvious at times, but there are a set of boards for ports of call, including one for France. Your post may well be moved there, but I'd at least copy your information over there. Those tend to be better places for general information about the ports that would apply to multiple cruise lines. It's: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/462-france-ports/ I don't see a lot of obvious Bordeaux questions there, but browse, repost your questions there, and be prepared that this post may be moved there. Our experience (Zeebrugge, Aarhus, Dublin) has been that transport at least to the port exit is provided at locations where foot traffic is not permitted. emelle Posted July 30 #4 Share Posted July 30 We are on this cruise and found the change of ports and lack of celebrity shore excursions frustrating also. We arranged a private tour through our TA.

MWL5150 Posted July 31 Author #6 Share Posted July 31 Thank you all for the helpful information especially using the various sections within the Board..... This is a fantastic source of information. Greatly apprecaiteds It appears Celebrity secured more buses and opened up the "Bordeaux on your own for Day 3 and 4" as of 3:30PM EST this afternoon and oddly you need to access it via Day 3 excursions and upon selecting reserve you are offered Day 3 11:55am or Day 4 8:45am. As of 8:50pm I could not verify as the site shows "cannot access your booking" Thanks again MLee
