Wheelchair assistance when boarding

If an elderly passenger requires assistance when boarding, is their boarding procedure prioritized in any way like it is at airports when boarding a plane?

I don't know what level of assistance is offered, but they do get priority boarding. And I THINK assistance is also offered if requested in advance. But I'm sure others will actually KNOW about this!

We always have wheelchair assist at the ports, which varies depending on the port. At most of them the wheelchair is available after security, if not before. The final leg of assistance is usually provided by a crew member.
