Cabify or uber in Barcelona?

We used BOLT app last week in Barcelona a couple of times and had a good experience.  I don't think Cabify worked or UBER so I used BOLT.

Some limited data points...

During the missus' cruise last year, she didn't have a great experience with taxi service in Barcelona; once from the port to their hotel and the second time from their hotel to the airport.  Specifically, they tacked on multiple supplements on top of the meter price at the end of the ride.  Some sounded/were legit (ie port and airport surcharge w/ thanks to @alserrod for transportation post info) while others not.  She just didn't enjoy the experience. 

 

This past week, we took an Uber from the port to our hotel.  (As an observation, the taxi line literally looked like an hour long based on the pax in queue and frequency of taxis.)  Originally, we tried booking through Cabify but the search kind of timed out, unable to find a driver.  So, we switch to Uber even though it showed a "longer wait" message.  The driver took about 15-20mins to show up which we though was fine, particularly since the taxi queue barely moved.  The ride to the hotel was fine and the price in the app was the price (and we tipped).  The overall experience seemed what we've come to expect in North America.

 

For the trip from the hotel to airport, we tried Cabify as it was about 15e less expensive.  It was generally a similar experience to Uber.  However, the driver was a bit of a jerk in that he parked across the street even tho we entered the name of our hotel as the pick up point.  So we had to wait at a crosswalk in order to reach him, which ordinarily isn't a big deal for us.  The jerkish move was that when I looked at the detailed billing, I saw he had charged us waiting time (tho <1e). Apart from this, the missus still felt it was a better experience than when she used taxis last year.  YMMV of course.
