VIKINGCRUISER Posted September 9 #1 Share Posted September 9 I know this isn't a big deal of a question, but I always wanted to face the Island when I was on a cruise, so I'm asking if I should have a Port balcony room or starboard balcony room. I know when I saw the Pearl in key west in January, her starboard side was against the pier. Anyway, just curious. Thank you
Nilbog Posted September 9 #2 Share Posted September 9 This really depends on several factors. Things such as wind direction & speed, current direction & speed, whether there is anything mechanical that would make it preferable for one side or the other, the pilot's preference, the Captain's preference, all sorts of variables. So, flip a coin and pick a side to book your cabin. We've had cruises where we faced both in and out on the same cruise.

It might also depend on how ships are scheduled to dock or anchor and their scheduled arrival and departure times.
