Cotton Posted June 20, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2004 I just read on the Ports-of-Call (N.O.) forum: The Hilton Riverside also has a "day rate" of $55 from 8am to 4pm. This would be great for folks who have a late flight and want a place to leave their luggage (or just to rest up) until flight time. I feel sure it would be subject to availability, but might just be the solution for a lot of y'all. Just thought I'd pass it along. "Laissez les bon temps rouler!" Crazy2bBlonde Posted June 20, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 20, 2004 Do you know anything about the "cruise special" that the Hilton has in N.O. We are cruising the Holiday (your favorite I understand" July 17 and were going to stay in N.O. the night before we leave and one night when we return. Cotton Posted June 20, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted June 20, 2004 Hi and welcome to the board! Yep, lots of folks have reported on the Hilton Riverside having a $99 special with comp parking while on the cruise. I don't know if you're driving or flying? Since your cruise is right around the corner, you probably need to call them ASAP to check into availability. I understand you have to specifically ask for the "cruise special". Good luck, and Bon Voyage! "Laissez les bon temps rouler!" Crazy2bBlonde Posted June 20, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 20, 2004 We consist of a group of 4 driving to NO in one vehicle. Splitting cost so there will be more $$$$ for the cruise. Of course I'm sure they will charge extra for more adults in one room. They all do. Also understand we might be able to get on the ship earlier than the scheduled time, any truth to that and if so, how early do you recommend getting there? Cotton Posted June 20, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted June 20, 2004 I get to the pier around 11, which is about the earliest they start the embarkment process, I think. You might try for 10:30ish? I'm usually on board by noon, once even 11:30! Your cabin may not be ready, but the steward will allow you to drop your carry-ons in the cabin, and then you can explore the ship! Head to the buffet, as they set it out early. Then the fun begins! Where are y'all driving from? "Laissez les bon temps rouler!" indiaksue Posted June 20, 2004 #8 Share Posted June 20, 2004 I tried to get a reservation at the Hilton for Jan. 22nd, 2005, and they told me they only book 2 night minimum on that night. I don't understand why. I also can't find any info about a cruise special on their website. My first cruise!
Auburn Tigers Posted June 21, 2004 #9 Share Posted June 21, 2004 It is not on the webite site. You have to call the hotel's direct line and ask them for the special. If you tried calling Hilton's national reservations that are not prevy to local hotel specials in most cases. War Eagle!! War Eagle!!!! Until it's Auburn football time again in the plains Until my ship has come in!!!!! Conquest - 11-14-
phinfan63 Posted June 21, 2004 #10 Share Posted June 21, 2004 One other point to mention is that the Hilton Riverside cruise deal is only good for one night stay. 8/23 Holiday
