What does it mean....

When a cruise is chartered? Is there a way to find out who chartered it?

My family and I (total of 7) are scheduled to sail on the MIRACLE on December 5 for our first cruise- when I tried to "upgrade the room" I got the following message: The requested sailing is currently not available because either the sailing is closed, or the ship is in Wet dock or Dry-dock. No categories are available.

I called my Carnival PVP and was told that it looks like the sailing has been "chartered".

 

Has anyone else ever been in this situation?

Sounds like some large group has booked the remaining cabins .ask you ta to check it for you
