WANDA28 Posted April 1, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 1, 2006 What is the best hotel to get a day pass since Wilma? 28 year old female and 16 year old neice. Looking for nice beach with drinks and lunch. Any one have the web address to these places?
syndyj Posted April 1, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 1, 2006 I emailed several hotels in Cozumel on this question of day passes and got a response from two, Allegro Cozumel and Occidental Grand Cozumel. Allegro Cozumel is $45.00 per person and Occidental Grand is $50.00 per person, children between 2-12 years old pay half price. No need to make reservations, just show up. The pass is valid from 9:00AM to 5:00PM and includes breakfast, lunch, snacks, all drinks and facilities. Allegro's website: http://www.occidentalhotels.com/hotel_information.aspx?hotel=1082644370896&view=1dk&s=47 Occidental's website: http://www.occidentalhotels.com/grandcozumel/index.asp Also check http://www.tripadvisor.com. for reviews and photos taken by past guests, and if you do a search on this board there is a recent review of someone who did the day pass at Occidental Grand. Bob7 Posted April 2, 2006 #4 Share Posted April 2, 2006 To add to Syndy's list, the Coral Princess is free, buy as you go, and the Fiesta Americana is $39 p.p. breakfast, lunch, and all drinks incl. Those are both a short cab ride. The El Cid La Ceiba used to be $15 no-incl, scheduled to reopen Apr. 1.
WANDA28 Posted April 2, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted April 2, 2006 Does any of these have a nice beach area? In some of the pictures of some of the resorts it shows a little beach but then it just drops off into the ocean.
syndyj Posted April 2, 2006 #6 Share Posted April 2, 2006 From the photos I have seen the Allegro has a wide sandy beach that looks very, very nice with blue seas The Occidental's beach is narrower but still looks much nicer than some of the rocky beaches I have seen at other hotels. I got those photos from tripadvisor.com, but you can also do a search on webshots.com for even more photos.
