Philly Cruiser Posted April 2, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 2, 2006 We are going on our first cruise in June, on Carnival Imagination. Why don't I see many posts about this ship? Can anyone give any good advice-do's and don'ts?

DqALEX Posted April 2, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 2, 2006 Welcome to the world of cruising. The advice I will give you is to pack light, and get there early. I still remember my first cruise. You get a paper everyday that gives you a list of what is going on, all the information for the day and also(nice to save it to remember your cruise). Also try not to miss the talks by the cruise director on the place's you will be visiting. Try not to miss the shows and have a great time. Make sure when you get back to write a review. Have a great time Alex

Philly Cruiser Posted April 2, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted April 2, 2006 first time on website...all new to me. Figured I would put the questions out there. I appreciate your help.
DqALEX Posted April 2, 2006 #7 Share Posted April 2, 2006 We all had to start some where. There are some people who enjoy flaming people, but there a lot of really nice people here who will answer any question out there. Cotton, Going crusing, and Big Duck can answer just about any question. There answers are usually right on, but with Going crusing and Big duck make sure you ask before 3pm because they are drunk after 5pm LOL

anubian Posted April 2, 2006 #11 Share Posted April 2, 2006 Hey Philly Cruiser, We live in Reading PA. We went on the Imagination last year. Not sure if you have kids...but I have 6 and they range in age. They had a ball. Camp Carnival is awesome. Open yourself up to fun and relaxation. Be an educated traveller though and do your research before you leave, read posts on this site and then go to all the informational talks once on the ship. Regarding excursions, I would research them on your own through reading tours that are recommended by other posters here on CC.com and then go through the operator privately. If you feel more comfortable, use Carnival's excursion for the first time. We chose to go out on our own and got more for our money (and still made it back to the ship on time). Have fun. Don't forget to let us know how everything went for you.
cathyoo Posted April 2, 2006 #12 Share Posted April 2, 2006 Welcome Philly Cruiser. I take it you are from Philadelphia??? If so there is a great thread for Philly Cruisers. I'm mostly a lurker on that board but everyone seems really friendly. You should check it out. http://messages.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=44364 If you are in Philly, where about? I'm in Wissinoming, small section near the Bridge/Pratt El station. I hope you really enjoy your first cruise. Lots of important information on these boards. I do want to warn you not to get too upset if you read some negative comments about the Inspiration. My last cruise was on the Liberty and after reading all the negative comments about motion, lousy food and rude staff I was having heart palapations. Not for myself but because I picked the cruise for 5 other people. Well everyone of us absolutely LOVED the ship. When are you sailing? Have you checked the roll call boards for your date. You'll like it here.
timmah Posted April 3, 2006 #13 Share Posted April 3, 2006 we didnt go to the debarkation talk, we didn't have any problems whatsoever with customs. one of the people in our group packed his passport away and used his driver's license to get through customs and had no problem. i loved the imagination as this was my first cruise and im definitely going on another one soon
