I always perfer to take the kids to Dr's Cave Beach.

It is safe and has nice big bathrooms, showers, places to by food & drinks, lifeguards and great snorkeling. way to far to walk but you can see the ship from the beach. Also right down the street from the beach(easy walk) is Margaritaville, they have a water trampoline and slide for the kids, they always have fun there also. Its a great place to go spend an hour before heading back to the ship.

I went to Dr Cave Beach two weeks ago and it was great. Good place for families. By the way...you might want to check out the Ports of Call Board for better info on MoBay...this thread will probably be moved over there anyway soon.

We were at an all-inclusive resort in MoBay a few weeks ago and checked out Doctors Cave Beach since we will be back in MoBay in October with our kids and grandkids. Very nice, clean beach, and the prices were quite reasonable - admission $5.00 for adults, $2.50 for kids, beach chairs and umbrellas available for $5.00. We were very impressed at how much MoBay has improved since we were there many years ago. Cab fare from the pier to the beach is about $4 per person and you can probably arrange for the cabdriver to return at a pre-determined time to take you back to the ship.

For those of you that have been to Drs Cave Beach, do you remember if they had floaties (rafts) that you can reant?

If not I will bring my own. The other 3 ports, we will also go to the beach and they do rent rafts for the water, so I do not have to bring my own. I spend all my time in the water floating and not on the beach in a chair.

Thanks in advance for the info.

We were at Doctors Cave Beach last year and it was indeed very nice. However, we would not rely on a cab returning to pick you up. Our driver asked when we wanted to return to the ship and said he would be back. He didnt return so we got another cab and then met him playing chess with his friends at a street cafe. There are so many cabs available, there is no reason to wait for one in particular and waiting might cause a problem.
