I would love to do this but i dont want to snorkel. I have a fear of water and dont like to get my head wet. Has anyone been on this and just fed the stingrays while they were wading in the shallow water?

I would love to hear some replies to this also. I really want to do the stingray experience, but am also very uncomfortable in the water. Tried snorkeling once; probably won't ever do it again.

We are having a hard time getting some responses here.. i did see where there was a picture of a girl and she isnt submersed in the water so hoping that will be the case. I did feed them and such in Hawaii 2 yrs ago they are amazing creatures.

I booked this excursion last night and was wondering the same thing. From what I can remember we booked the 9:00 to 1:30 session so hopefully we will have alittle time to shop. Has anyone been on this excursion? If so, how did you like it?

There must be someone out there that has booked this tour with CCL.

We will have a five year old along, and am wondering if she can just stand in the water and see the stingrays. She won't be able to snorkle.

We did not book through the cruise lines, but I can answer some of your questions. Most boats dock right on the sandbar. The shallowest water there is still 3 feet deep. Beacause there were so many boat there, we had to anchor in deep water and swim 20 yards to get to the sandbar. Our boat offered life jackets to anyone who wanted them. I talked to 3 groups who booked with Carnival and none of us were overly thrilled with Stingray City, simply because it was too crowded, their bus drivers drove like maniacs, and one mentioned their boat hit another, causing damage and an injury. There were 6 ships in port the day we were there which caused the congestion. I recommend getting to the sandbar as early as possible. The price is only $30 if you book in advance with one of the private tour operators. Their boats are smaller and may offer a second stop to do some snorkeling.
