RoofingPrincess Posted April 4, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 4, 2006 Come on over to the Cruise Fashions forum! we get into this discussion all the time over there! But the quick answer is... certain lines are more formal than others, shorter cruises seem to be less formal than longer ones, gowns are great for formal nights! MIcruiser99 Posted April 4, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 4, 2006 When we were on the Majesty, there was the whole range from formal to jeans. I would say it was less formal as it is a 3 or 4 day cruise but there were still people (we did) who did dress up.
MiniMom57 Posted April 4, 2006 #4 Share Posted April 4, 2006 formal = "black tie" = gowns, cocktail dresses, tuxes, and dark suits.
ctbrehm Posted April 18, 2006 #5 Share Posted April 18, 2006 Please leave your gowns and tuxes home for the Majesty. You'll be completely out of place. Most women wore coctail dressses/sun dresses and about 1/2-3/4 men wore suits, the remaining shirts/ties or other shirts. This is not a formal cruise, the dining room on this ship doesn't warrant formal attire.
tbone81 Posted April 18, 2006 #6 Share Posted April 18, 2006 Doesn't matter if its a 3 night or a 12 night, I will be in at least a Suit...dress as nice as you want, you can never be overdressed!
