TEAGAN Posted April 5, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2006 By the time we get off the ship (on our first day of cruising ever) we figure we will have about 3 hours in Nassau. We really want to take a cab right to a nice beach as we've always wanted to see the Bahamas (although 3 hours is a bit of a joke). Do you suggest that we take a cab to the Wyndham and walk onto Cable beach? Thanks so much.

Yes, if you want a taste of the bahamas.. head to the Cable Beach Resorts (either Wyndham Crystal Palace or Nassau Beach Hotel). A cab would be quickest. Sorry you have such a limited time to see the island. It's not easy to get a feel for the real bahamas without hanging out with it's people. Enjoy your stay, and come back and stay awhile. jdjaguar Posted April 5, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 5, 2006 We've got 9 hours in Nassau. I figured we'd take the #10 to Cable beach/Wyndham. We will be 6 adults/ 4 kids. Should we slip through the hotel in smaller groups as we head to the beach to make it less obvious? Also, I always try and eat at a "locals" restaurant when I travel...is there a good place for some cracked conch nearby? (not hotel food) As far as the afternoon, I figured we'd just kind of poke around..(I may slip off on a scooter w/ the 2 adult kids...any rec's on what to do or see? I'm not much of a hang at the beach guy, but my wife is. Any info would be appreciated scubagirl..you seem to be "the" authority.
