how's the snorkeling in Ocho Rios this year?

Went there 25 years ago and it was beautiful... Any current news? Specific beachers or operators would be helpful.

I was there 3 years ago, at the Beaches resort. I learned how to scuba dive there, and got my OW certification. After that I dived at Cuba (Veradero and Bay of Pigs), and Hawaii. Ocho Rios had little color, little coral growth, little fish. Visibility wasn't very good. Diving or snorkeling was not very good. Many people said Jamaica does not have good diving/snorkeling, due to overfishing and lack of environment protection.

 

Don't expect a lot in Ocho Rios. Might be better to take a trip to Dunn Rivers, and buy some Blue Mountain coffee and rum.
