Anyone take Ferry from NJ to NYC?

Hi,

We are leaving on the Dawn June 10th. My sister lives in South NJ and is trying to avoid driving into Manhattan.

I checked the NY Waterways website and found that there are ferrys that leave from Port Imperial, Weehawken, Lincoln Harbor, Hoboken, Newport and Harborside that ferry over to W 39th street.

Is there a place to park the car for a week at anyone of the above NJ sites? What does it cost?

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Not sure why she wants to go thru all the pain of taking the ferry to avoid driving a couple miles more and parking on the pier. It will be a Saturday and an easy drive into NYC.

No parking on the NJ side is as secure as the pier parking. By the time she gets off the Turnpike, finds the parking lot, and drags her bags to the ferry dock she could be at the pier in NYC.

She will still need to cross the river and get the 10 blocks from the nyc ferry dock to the pier.

Not sure loading, unloading, hauling, loading, unloading and hauling baggage is any less painful the the 10 blocks she will need to drive in NYC. Once she exits the tunnel she is almost at the pier - 3 turns

If it is all about saving perhaps $75 on parking then that is another story.

Ok look at the list carefully. Does this make any sense. It will cost $180 for 1 month. We are going on the 8 day cruise. If we were to park there at the rate of $24.00 the total would be $192.00 It is cheaper to pay for 1 month of parking and only use 8 days of the spot. I am not parking at this lot based on that weird pricing.

Not wierd but in fact a discount for anything over 7 days - You max out at $180. Good deal on the 8 day, great deal on the 10 and 11 day cruises.

They will collect the $180 when you park. Just jump in your car at the end of the cruise and head home. You could be in the tunnel 20 minutes after you exit the ship.

Don't park here because of the wierd pricing and pay for everyday at any other lot in NYC with no where near the level of security:D
