pamcdon Posted April 9, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 9, 2006 My DH and I decided to book a cruise on the Century for April 16 of next year. We will be visiting Key West (docked) and George Town, Grand Cayman (tendered). Which side of the ship would be better - Port or Starboard? We are getting a cabin with a veranda and would like to know which side would be better to sit on our veranda and enjoy both the views. Thanks for your input. Paula:) :) :)
jerseygirl3 Posted April 9, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 9, 2006 We'll be on the Century for the same itinerary, but sailing on April 2. I always prefer port side. It's just my personal preference. In Key West, probably starboard would actually be better, because generally that's the way the ship is docked so starboard side faces the town. In Grand Cayman it won't matter...the ship is out at sea and passengers are tendered in. It pretty much points toward the island, so which side you're on really won't matter. Did you book a Concierge Class balcony cabin?
pamcdon Posted April 9, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted April 9, 2006 No, we booked one of the new ocean view cabins with a veranda. We have never sailed on Celebrity before so we are looking foward to it. Hope you enjoy your cruise! Thanks for the info. Paula:)
Gypsea Posted April 9, 2006 #4 Share Posted April 9, 2006 Port would be best. In Key West this time I was portside and could see the town. Maybe this is not the norm though. Glad you are trying Century. She will be fabulous even more so than my cruise. I envy you getting to see all the renovations. She's nice now but you are in for a real treat. ENJOY!
