tripman Posted April 10, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2006 Is it possible to rent a car for the day somewhere near the tender piers? How much does would it cost? Are they realiable? Where should I go with the car? Thanks
twinkletoes4445 Posted April 10, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 10, 2006 We used Andy's while we were there for the week. I do know there is some company that will bring the car to the Blue Iguana, which is right in the port area. Then when you return, you drop the car off there. I don't recall the name, but it is mentioned somewhere on the threads. Hopefully, someone will come along with that information for you. Andy's may also do that. I don't know for sure, though. We picked our car up at the airport. If you don't get a response, I'll look for Andy's website. Once you have your car, you can go anywhere. We loved the East End. The blowholes are over that way (near Bodden Town/Savannah). There's also a botonical garden that direction. The Lighthouse Restaurant is over that way. You could take a drive to Rum Point. When we were there it was packed, but it still is a neat place. They have a restaurant there and it was really good. Or you could drive to the turtle farm, Hell, and 7MB area. LJLB6 Posted April 12, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 12, 2006 For our upcoming cruise, we reserved a jeep online for pickup at the AVIS rental place at the airport. We haven't figured out how to get to the airport yet--probably go by taxi. If you reserve online, you don't need to use your credit card for the reservation. They have different classificaitons of vehicles--jeeps, convertibles, luxury, sub compact, compact, etc.--so you can pretty well chose what suits your needs.
