Zenith in September

As you may already know, September is hurricane season so you could have any kind of seas depending on what storms are around or not around. We sailed on Zenith last September 3-10th. Going down was fine, smooth seas. Arrived in Hamilton on Monday. By Tuesday we had word of Hurricane Nate heading toward Bermuda. On Wednesday we could not dock at St. George so the ship stayed in Hamilton but was moved to the cargo pier (awful views from there  ) and we had to tender into Hamilton on Wednesday. We left Bermuda on Wednesday evening instead of Thursday to outrun the storm. This was actually the decision of the Bermuda government not the cruise lines. All ships had to leave Bermuda that evening. We had some rocking and rolling on that night. Knowing this was a possiblity I took some Bonine and put my sea-bands back on and was perfectly fine. Had a great dinner and went to the casino.

We sailed back to Bayonne very slowly and Thursday and Friday were glorious, gorgeous, calm sea-days (which I love). All in all it was a great trip and for the price, it couldn't be beat. The weather in Bermuda was very warm and a bit humid and on Wednesday (the day we left) was overcast but not raining.

Now the above is what occurred on our September cruise. That does not mean it will happen with yours. It's the luck of the draw during that season but that said...Zenith is a great ship with a wonderful crew and I think you will have a great time.

If I can answer any other questions, please feel free to ask.

Michelle...on our cruise it was not nearly bad enough for things to slide off the tables. We had a very nice dinner that night. It was interesting to watch the waiters balance their trays of soup without spilling a drop :D . At times you felt a little off balance when walking and everyone was joking and swearing that they did NOT have too much to drink.:) The hallways have handrails to hold onto. I thought Zenith handled the waves pretty well.

Where is your cabin? High...low...front...aft??

I really wouldn't worry about it. Chances are that you will have wonderful weather and calm seas. I KNOW you will have a good time on Zenith.

Thanks for the info, like I said, it's our first cruise and I really don't know what to expect. We are in a Zenith Suite (1012-Atlantic Deck-across from the forward elevators). If this trip goes well, I plan to take many more! I have a feeling I'm really going to enjoy cruising!
