Calculating tips

When figuring out the tips, do you go by how many nights your cruise is? Or, do you count the last day even though your off the ship first thing in the morning? I am trying to set aside our tip money before hand (and will add more according to service later) but using the tip calculator I found on these boards, it asks for "how many days". I am going on a 4 night cruise.
