Steerage vs. Grills- Cunard Exec Explains

Cruise lines tend to book blocks of rooms, and have been known to substitute hotels if they get lots of bookings. Personally, based on the prices I have seen, I would NEVER book through the cruiseline, but that's just me I guess. Just like the transfers. They mark them up way too much compared to just booking it yourself.

To each his/her own.

"We are cruising more for the ports than for ship board activities, and intend to take advantage of room service frequently. !

There is some confusion about "formal" dining on QM2. Unlike QE2 which has a much more formal dress code that applies ON THE WHOLE SHIP, Qm2 only applies the dress code in the dining rooms. Outside these the custom is anything goes and I do not believe there is much enthusiasm for changing this.

There is no dress code on room service. You can dine stark naked if you wish, although I would not advise extending this outside your cabin.

We found in a month on QE2 last year that the formal after formal got a bit much, particularly as "elegant casual" (and there were only two of these in the whole voyage) the lowest dress grade, was basically jacket and collared shirt for gents, when in tropical regions I would have loved short sleeves.

The only answer is if you don't like it got elsewhere.

David.
