Can anybody tell me about the boutique shops at Lemon bay in Noumea, or about the Anse vata's Palm Beach Gallery in Noumea.

Any interesting shopping in the city itself?

Has anybody arranged their own tours or transport with the local people once ashore?

Most of the shops are very expensive . The sun can often berth on a sunday in noumea when most shops are shut anyway,

worth doing.....taxi to the beach and relax. or if you havent been before the petit train ride

sorry late in replying , just catching up on a few missed posts

I agree that it is expensive and shopping not great but I still kind of liked it. I like looking at the supermarket as it is very different from ours. Also like trying to read the French signs, not very good I have realised. I also thought I saw a shoe shop on the way up to that church on the hill that had reasonable price leather shoes. Of course I could have completely stuffed up my conversions.
