El Escambron Beach San Juan-Anyone been there?

We have a cruise stop in San Juan this year and we have been there several times before. A few months ago, someone mentioned a beach called El Escambron that is a short taxi ride from Old San Juan. Has anyone actually ever been there that could tell me about it, maybe compare it to the beach at Isla Verde? We have planned to go to a beach for a few hrs, but would try a new one if it is decent. What I read was that it is somewhere near the Caribe Hilton. Thanks.....Happy sails....

It's a nice beach -- good choice.
