Sunset Beach Resort

Recommended Posts

On the OTHER board I posted a question about this all-inclusive at

Montego Bay for $20.00 (13 and up) $10.00 (2 to 12) and found out that the

resort (http://www.sunsetbeachresort.com/) does offer a

special to cruisers there for the day. It includes ALL drinks (alcoholic and non), food and the use of their beach, pool, etc... The website makes it look very nice - but you never know.

Anyhow I was just wondering if anybody has been to this resort

recently? Is the food good? How is the condition of the resort? Anything else you can tell me? I know snorkling is included - are there any other watersports included?

The lady at the resort said you can see it from the cruise terminal and

that it is a 10 minute walk - but I'm not sure I would want to walk

outside the gates. Anyone walk? How much was a taxi?

I saw on some review boards that they said to wear watershoes (pebbles on the beach) and an insulated cup - as the drink cups they give you are about 4 oz - but they don't mind mxing/pouring the drink into a cup you bring. The review were mixed on the food - it seemed to be hit and miss - but there was always something to eat.

Anything else you can tell me?

Hi, I read that review too. It was someone who was on the Conquest recently and gave rave reviews about Sunset Beach. I don't remember all the details...sorry. However, I definitely wouldn't walk from the ship to get there. I would get a taxi. I've been to Montego Bay several times and I wouldn't feel safe enough to do that. You want to make sure that you get a "JUTA" brand taxi.

Yeah - I thought the same thing. We've been there 3 times and I never felt safe outside those gates except when we were at Docs or Margaritaville. That's why I was curious as to whether anyone actually walked it.

I saw someone else state the taxi was $5.00 but they didn't say if that was per person or for the entire taxi ride (not sure how many people). As I remember - they charge per person and when we went to Docs last year it was $3.00 per person - and this place sounds closer than Docs - so $5.00 per person doesn't sound right.
