karmac Posted April 17, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 17, 2006 Just thought I'd start this thread so people don't get caught out like we did. When we booked our cruise we requested 2nd sitting dinner. As we booked so far in advance (17 months) we probably would have got whatever we asked for. Anyway, first night we went to 2nd sitting dinner (there was a sign on the door that said 1st sitting was fully booked out). Then next day we went to a meeting with the teen club as we had a 15 y.o. son travelling with us. We found out that the major part of the teen's night is 8.30-10.00, just as we were supposed to be having dinner. Afraid that our son was going to miss out on meeting other teens, we went straight to the Maitre'd to request a change in sitting. The only way they could change us was to put us at a table for 2 with an extra chair. We agreed to this for the sake of our son. It wasn't a major problem, the table was big enough but of course it meant we didn't get to have dinner with other people. We were happy with our table, waiter etc. I just want to warn others travelling with teenagers that it would be a good idea to request 1st sitting as you may not be able to change at a later date.
