GoinCruisin Posted April 30, 2006 #126 Share Posted April 30, 2006 Yes, that is correct. The ones I stole were left on the bathroom floor and replaced with nice new-smelling carnival ones.:D :p Good for you :D Perhaps people will eventually realize that those towels are not their property, and if they don't keep an eye on them, someone else might just walk off with them :D Tough cookies I say
LSUtraveler Posted April 30, 2006 #127 Share Posted April 30, 2006 Priceless! And how it the world can it be called stealing if it's just left there for everyone to take. Surely no one would just leave all that stuff there while they went to eat, sleep, swim, take a tour, play at the casino, etc. The following are things for those who want to leave stuff for everyone to use: Good strong suntan lotion, good sunglasses, couple of extra towels, a good mystery novel (maybe two), S&S card, bucket of cold beer, size 11 sandels, two rolls of quarters, reservations at the Point for two, paid tours at all ports and some cash for souviners. I can handle the rest. Just leave the stuff on a chair by the pool. Thanks so much!!:p:p
cruisin_doodles Posted April 30, 2006 #128 Share Posted April 30, 2006 Shergar1, This thread is a hoot! Thanks for bringing some levity to the whole chair saving topic. Sometimes we all take ourselves a little too serously. BTW, do you ever find any cute free flip-flops? I thought maybe I could save some room in my luggage. :)

lonig Posted April 30, 2006 #135 Share Posted April 30, 2006 Would be fun to type up some cards that say: "These items have been here since ________ (write in the time) and will be removed after 1/2 hour. Chairs are not to be saved!" Then leave these on chairs with items on them and maybe they will get the message. I have removed items and set them on other chairs before after observing no one around for a while. If people come back I tell them there was nothing on the chair when I got there, someone else must have removed their things, but most people don't ask as they know they are in the wrong. Great thread, lol!!!!!!!

Hootsie Posted May 1, 2006 #137 Share Posted May 1, 2006 We do the same thing with Carnival towels. When we'd lose one of ours, we'd never panic. There was plenty on chairs down by the pool. We have never had to pay the lost towel fee yet and we travel with our kids who leave them all over the ship. Works for us! And no, we didn't steal the towels. We FOUND them and RETURNED them to Carnival. We were doing the ship a favor!

Hollyspop Posted May 3, 2006 #145 Share Posted May 3, 2006 If one of you happened to find my brand new Sony digital Handy Cam I will more than happy to send you the battery charger if you will leave your name and address. I did leave it on the chair so that someone less fortunate than I could enjoy taking some great video.
Undrhil Posted May 4, 2006 #146 Share Posted May 4, 2006 Well, as a member of bookcrossing.com, I'll have a few choice books which will leave around the ship so people can get them and, hopefully, release them into the wild in their local area (state, country, etc.) and that will be really exciting! So, what kinds of books are most popular for you chair-hog-thieves, eh? I've got some sci-fi, some mystery, some fantasy ... scratch that ... you're not getting my fantasy books. :-D Undrhil
