Perseids Posted April 25, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 25, 2006 We are cruising end of May and first week of June. Are the mosquitos likely to be a factor during this time period?
springtxbill Posted April 26, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 26, 2006 On the ship, no. Get off the water on the land with no wind and they definitely will be.
Yukon Posted April 26, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 26, 2006 No they won't be, either on sea or land. You're getting here before mosquito season really gets going. There may be the odd one, but that's it. In Southeast Alaska they're a minor nuisance at worst, anyway - the interior is where the legends come from. Laska Posted April 26, 2006 #4 Share Posted April 26, 2006 Depending on the weather, it can be terrible or nothing. Southeast is no problem, but if you get any further interior than Anchorage, it's the very start of prime mosquitoe time.
