What are the best things to buy in Belize?

We bought wood bowls that were made from the different types of trees in Belize and S. America...They are very beautiful. I dont think Belize is known for anything other than the bowls and wood carvings....There are loads of tshirt shops, and typical touristy shops in port....There is a flea market outside of the port gates, but beware that you are on your own once you leave the port area. We looked around the flea market and didnt see anything....and went back in the secured area.

I bought a wooden mask and also a stone/slate with some carving of a medicine man. I purchased these in 2004 after my Lamanai/New River safari tour from some local carvers at the boat ramp.

Last year in Belize, I didn't purchase much. I did find a nice pareo/wrap in a stall at the tourist village.
