rollie Posted April 27, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 27, 2006 How much do I tip the room service staff? I know I've seen this before but now can't find it. Thanks Rollie
lionheart Posted April 27, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 27, 2006 I usually give $2. Also, I usually only order one thing. Sometimes its tough to give the person that since they are out of your room pretty quick. Kurt
Duanerice1 Posted April 27, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 27, 2006 When we order breakfast and they take the time to set it up on the balcony I tip $5. If they just frop it off, I usually tip $2 - $3. I usually feel bad becasue it is my room steward that has to actually bring it and I know how busy they already are. For snacks at night I give $2. SheilaNC Posted April 27, 2006 #4 Share Posted April 27, 2006 we've often had our steward refuse the tip -- so we make up for it at the end of the cruise. We, too, tip $2-5 depending on service and amount of food ordered.

nparmelee Posted April 27, 2006 #6 Share Posted April 27, 2006 For us room service was always delivered by our cabin steward so we just added to her final tip to make things easier.
Lsimon Posted April 27, 2006 #7 Share Posted April 27, 2006 I used to tip 2 or 3 dollars on delivery - I'd keep some singles handy. But the last couple cruises on celebrity it's always been delivered by our room steward or assistant steward and I just take care of them at the end of the cruise. PAISANO Posted April 27, 2006 #8 Share Posted April 27, 2006 I always take $2.00 out before I go to bed and put it on the desk.We only order coffee in the morning. Our room steward would call us telling us room service is on the way. About 15 secs. later is the knock on the door. Darn their fast.
Duanerice1 Posted April 27, 2006 #9 Share Posted April 27, 2006 Actually that is what I like about Celebrity - they call before room service is brought. That way I can get out of bed :) Does anyone know if other cruise lines call before they bring your order? Thanks, Duane

Andy Posted April 27, 2006 #12 Share Posted April 27, 2006 Hi Everyone ! My rule of thumb is $ 2.00 for 1 or 2 items, and $ 5.00 if they are delivering a full meal (or multiple items) with several plates.

cruisePRN Posted April 27, 2006 #15 Share Posted April 27, 2006 I Order a cup of coffee each morning as my wake up call. I wedge a dollar bill into the frame of the mirror to grab in a hurry to give the wait person when he knocks on the door and i take the tray from him.
