QM2 June 15-27 Credit cards vs Euros?

D2 in Safety Harbor

We will be doing the Mediterranean in June on QM2. Any advice on the using credit cards on shore versus euros? Also after reading various posts I am wondering if we made a wise choice to use Cunard flight and transport from JFK to port and back. We did it to avoid the hassle we experienced in Ft. Lauderdale in February but it looks like hassle is the name of the game.

The best advice is to use both. Here in Europe Credit Cards are widely accepted and you can pay major shopping and lunch in nice restaurants with them. Using a card is also the most oeconomical way versus obtaining cash for a worse exchange rate.

Yet CCs are not accepted everywhere and we do not use them for small purchases. Thus you need cash for drinks and small food, postcards, often taxis etc. and in many small low cost shops. The best way to obtain Euros is probably from an ATM (with bank card not with credit card.)
