caribbean dreams Posted April 30, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 30, 2006 You are not supposed to take sand or shells from the beaches in Barbados, but its ok for the locals to sell you shells, how much sense does that make.

Yea, but we import the shells we sell from the French islands, not Barbados. Martinique is our primary target. :)
Sunniebgi Posted April 30, 2006 #5 Share Posted April 30, 2006 There are actually laws about taking sand off the beaches, but not small amounts (we are talking loads not a hand full). and we don't get that many shells.. but I have shells, seaglass etc that I've taken off the beach. Most of the shells that you find in the stores around here are not even from Barbados.. not sure where they get them.. enjoy
