ellie109 Posted April 30, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 30, 2006 as a first time europe cruiser on the celebrity millenium, i was wondering about the tours that the cruise line offers. should we take them, or does anyone have tour operators that we should contact? are there any stops that we can definitely do on our own? what about in naples? we definitely want to go to capri. and santorini? any suggestions for that stop? any and all suggestions would be extrememly helpful! thanks! fmax Posted May 1, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 1, 2006 Check the roll-call boards and see if there's been one set up for your cruise http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=285 If not, start one. Here you can find other posters on your cruise and, with luck, organize some private excursions which normally work out less expensive than the cruise tours and are more flexible. I don't have any info on Greece but here's some good links for some of the other ports you might be doing Venice http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=332155&highlight=faq Marseille http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=264664&highlight=faq Barcelona http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=264642&highlight=faq Rome http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=283936&highlight=faq Pisa/Florence http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=264654&highlight=faq The most recommended private drivers tend to book up early. missyal Posted May 2, 2006 #3 Share Posted May 2, 2006 There is so much information on these boards. Just scroll thru the Europe board and check the various posts. You will find something on every single port you will be visiting. Don't be afraid to look way back at older posts too, they can be very helpful. As the other poster said, a roll call will also be a great place to check and if nothing else, a great way to "meet" others on your sailing. Happy travels.
