pmymmw Posted May 2, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 2, 2006 Hi Carol, As I know your itinery here are a list of countries you are visting and the currencies used there: Stockholm, Sweden - Swedish Krone (SKR) Helsinki, Finland - Euro (EUR) St. Petersburg, Russia - From British Embassy "Russian currency (roubles) is not widely available in the UK, although the Post Office can order it in (this takes up to three days). If you wish to purchase roubles in Russia, we advise that you take US dollars or Euros to change. All dollar or euro notes should be in good condition. You should only change money at banks, hotels and recognised exchange kiosks. It is an offence to change money from street traders. It is illegal to pay directly with dollars or Euros." Tallinn, Estonia - Estonian Kroon (EEK) Klaipeda, Lithuania - Lithuanian Litas (LTL) Gdansk (Gdynia), Poland - Polish Zloty (PLN) Berlin (Rostock), Germany - Euro Copenhagen, Denmark - Danish Krone (DKK) Oslo, Norway - Morwegian Kroner (NOK) Some of these currencies might need to be ordered by your local bank or travel agent so you might want to give yourselves a couple of weeks if you want to take them with you. If you want to change your money on arrival at each location (this would avoid you being a walking Bureau de change :D) you might be better taking Euros rather than Pounds. Hope this helps and have a good cruise (and we will see you in 4 weeks) Mark
