Kids' programs QM2

Can anyone review the kid programs on the QM2? Preschool age in particular. We're thinking of a holiday sailing. Is it glorified babysitting or do they have actual planned activities as does Disney? Thanks much.

We were on the 4/15 and 4/23 transatlantic sailings and the Kids Zone was wonderful for my 8 year old. He went when he wanted. Basically 9-12, 2-5, and 8-midnight. He didn't always stick to that schedule as he was doing other things with us, but the "zone" was there if needed. They have scheduled events and even have a print out of the entire cruise and what they do each day and at what time with the kids. Under 11 years old, the kids need to be signed in and out. My son loved it. I loved it as it gave him so many other things to do. They took him to the shows, ship tours, movies.......so much. The younger ones have a schedule as well. They have a great area for the kids to play in and the much younger ones are separated from the older. Hope this helps.

it is absolutely fabulous

we've just done the south american cruise with a 5 year old and a 3 year old

it's all completely structured and organised,

am 9 til 12.00

pm 2 til 5.00

evening 6.00 til midnight

there is NO incabin babysitting despite begging them!

but there was no need as we virtually had personal service as there were only 7 children on board out of 2000 or so passengers

this could have been a problem but it wasn't, the kids loved it

so did we having every evening together without them moaning

ours went to sleep in the kids club and we carried them back to our cabin which was 20 footsteps away from the kids club (planned)

they were never then tired in the day

it really is the best holiday for young children apart from the expense as there are no child discounts

i was racked with worry before we went and there was no need

Baby sitting in the cabins is available we were told, but we didn't need it. It all depends who signs up for it. You just have to ask those in the Zone and they'll let you know who may be available. Since the zone is open until midnight it's just not that popular, and again, like the food, you just need to ask.
