Bah humbug! The World Cup starts next month!

OK I know I'm going to be a lone voice in a soccer-based wilderness but I'm praying and hoping that the QE2 cruise I'm booked on in June has as few opportunities to watch the World Cup as possible.

Doubtless they'll show quite a few matches in the Golden Lion (which is fine) - but fingers crossed that all the other public rooms remain football-free zones!

You are not a lone voice. We have the same problem.

 

Clearly we will expect the full results of any Formula one races to be on our table in the evening (as per last time on board) but woe betide anyone who suggests that football is an appropriate topic of converstation.

 

I am very tempted to replace the flower in the vase at dinner with the flag of the country that England are playing. On the basis that the sooner they are knocked out the better!

 

There are, of course, more devious means available to cleanse the ship.....
