rhodes Posted May 10, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 10, 2006 Will the ship exchange Traveller's cheques for local currency? Will the ship exchange USTraveller's cheques for US dollars? Do they charge a fee? I am a first time cruiser and need tips on money handling.
Jane110 Posted May 10, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 10, 2006 Call Oceania and ask them their policy's. On our two cruises on Oceania, they did have Euro's for sale for a poor exchange rate. This is typical of hotels and cruiselines - it's a service for them and they charge you for convenience. On our South American cruise, they did not have local currency. ATM's are your best best. I'm don't recall if there's a fee for exchanging US travellers checks for US currency. However, there would be no fee involved if you used any TC's to pay your shipboard account.
