Directions to NYC Pier & Boarding procedure for Legend

Hi cruisers! We will join the cruise on 06-05-06 on the Legend from New York. The night before, we will stay at a friends house in Brooklyn. Whats the best way to get to the Carnival Pier? Is it easier by subway or by cab? Or do they might offer a shuttleservice? Is there a long wait for CheckIn and Boarding? After the cruise: Do they have Carrental stations in the Pier-area? They have directions to pier at Carnival's site.ALso at NYC port authority's site...

The pier is up near Times Squares if that helps your transportation situation. Carnival does not offer a shuttle service.

 

As for boarding, we are on the Victory 7/1 and plan on driving down from Mass and getting there for 12ish with departure at 5.

Are you parking at your friends house? If so, you're better off seeing if they can drive you in. I think the subway will only get you as close a 8th Ave. You could then take a cab/bus. Don't pack much. I wouldn't want to carry a lot of bags on the subway. A cab from Brooklyn might be $$$$. Check with a shuttle service. Good luck.
